WHAT MAY CAUSE STREAKS AND SWALES?

#1. High fatty acid or high non-volatile material in the solvent.

#2. Over loading/under loading the cleaning machine!!

#3. Extraction time not long enough before going into the drying cycle.

#4. Restriction in airflow during the drying cycle.

#5. Not enough solvent in the machine.

#6. Excessive amounts of sizing, mothproofing or soap in the system.

#7. Wheel not turning or turning too slow during drying cycle.

#8. Drying garments in net bags especially if you are not classifying your loads correctly.

#9. Not thoroughly rinsing spotting agents from the fabric before cleaning. Of course 1 chemical that will not cause problems is WETSPO because it is non-oily by nature!!

#10. Throwing garments into the wheel wet from water and pre-spotting can cause rings and/or redeposition. This can be prevented by using LAIDLAW LEVELING AGENT OR HYDROCARBON LEVELING AGENT FOR NON PERC MAHINES.

#11. Solvent dripping from the top of the wheel onto fabrics during the drying process.

#12. Disturbance of water soluble or solvent soluble sizing during spotting. SAME AS #10. This can be prevented with LAIDLAW leveling agents.

#13. Blower coming on too soon before extraction speed has stopped.

#14. Leaking solvent inlet valve during extraction or drying.

#15. Large shoulder pads.

#16. TOO SHORT A DETERGENT RUN!!!

#17. Dirty solvent. Make sure you are distilling properly which is a at least 10 gallons for every 100 pounds cleaned.

#18. Insufficient solvent flow, which should be at 1 gallon per minute per weight of the clothes. Example: a 30-pound load would require 30 gallons of solvent per minute to flow through the wheel and filter.

#19. Drying temperature too high or too low. Usually should be between 120 F- 155 F for perc machines. There are many new solvents out now so check your machinery manual if you are not using perc.

#20. NOT USING ENOUGH LAIDLAW PRODUCTS CAN NOT ONLY CAUSE STREAKS AND SWALES BUT ALSO A DECREASE IN CUSTOMERS AND EFFICIENCY!!!!
