Have you ever seen blue/green separator water? If yes,
then that this is most likely corrosion from the copper coils in the still or rec heads.
Perc is normally about 7.5 on the pH scale and after being distilled over and over again
most people find their perc is about a 5.5. Buff raises the pH back to alkaline
which slows down ( not prevents ) the corrosion of the coils. By getting the perc on the
alkaline side you will find that detergent works better also.
What about odors? Buff goes after the fatty acids that even filters miss from time
to time , latches on to them and carries them off to the filter. This will clean up your
solvent and eliminate those funky smells that get on the clothes.
Not to mention Buff will help static electricity, swales as well as deodorize and
reoderize the solvent.
3 questions you might be asking
Is Buff N TA Germ? No!! N TA GERM does kill bacteria but that is all it does. Buff
controls the bacteria (cleans it up as it latches on to it ) and carries it off to the
filters. But Buff also controls the pH, controls static, swales as well as
deodorizes and reodorizes.
Is Buff the same as soda ash? Not even close. Soda ash raises the pH but that is it.
Buff does all the above things.
Can I use it in petroleum or DF2000? Yes...Buff is good in petroleum and DF2000
